About Youad

Youad -Culture and Arts
After being based on the initiative “We Were and Still Are.. Here” since 2011, Youad was established in 2017 as Jerusalemite institution concerned with visual documentation and digital storytelling. It is based on youth energies and on archival and field research,
in addition to empowering youth groups and preparing them as young researchers through courses, professional training, field research and visual productions with an artistic vision.
Also, through “Youad”, an information and artistic production unit is established, as well as a monitoring and publishing unit, in order to enhance the importance of community documentation.
Youad focuses, primarily, on Palestinian cultural heritage, through awareness and devotion to the national identity, using new inspiring and innovative methods that simulate the past and the present through visual documentation and the Palestinian narrative.
Number of stories, researches and videos were produced; and exhibitions and seminars were held in more than 20 Arab and European countries.
Youth groups are also being targeted in schools and universities, through: cultural activities such as lectures, performances, and tours in the ethnically cleansed villages, training groups on approaches and research methods, and the use of archives to empower their capabilities for cultural production.
Youad” works intensively on networking with youth initiatives and institutions outside the homeland, to create a bridge between Palestinian youth at home and in the diaspora.
